YARDOSL partners with Freetown City Council to give away 1,500 trees in one day!
By Ahmid C Jalloh, Executive Director. YARDOSL
On the 5th June 2020, Youths Action for Relentless Development Organization commonly called YARDO-SL joined forces with the Freetown City Council (F.C.C) to give away 1,500 trees on World Environment Day 2020. This, according to our Executive Director, is in line with the mayor’s initiative of the Transform Freetown agenda which has the FreetowntheTreetown campaign as one of its key initiatives. The FreetowntheTreetown campaign is set to plant and grow 1 million trees by the end of 2021. The campaign was launched in January 2020 and has so far raised awareness on the importance of trees amongst residents in Freetown.
In celebration of the world environment day this year, YARDO-SL through its Climate Action Ambassadors Network members joined the Mayor and the Freetown City Council team to give away the trees to residents of Freetown.
